Franklin Barreto to benefit from Jorge Mateo trade

Franklin Barreto has a good chance to win the second base job for the A’s to start the season after Jorge Mateo was traded to the Padres for a player to be named.
Fantasy Impact:
Barreto has shown legitimate power in the minors with an improving running game. At age 24, he still has a chance to regain his power stroke and the stolen bases would be a nice addition from a middle infield spot. Barreto will see competition from Vimael Machin and Sheldon Neuse, but remains the one to watch for the A’s second base job to start the season.
