Caleb Simpson signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Sunday and was added to the team's 60-man player pool, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports. (Ian Browne on Twitter)

Simpson has a chance to add some depth to the Red Sox bullpen with teams going with expanded rosters to start the season. The 28-year-old finishes with a 3.00 ERA and a 56/30 K/BB ratio in 42 innings in the Giants system last season.
