Major League Baseball announced that free agent reliever Sam Dyson has been suspended for the entire 2021 season, including the postseason, for violating the league's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. (MLB)

Fantasy Impact:

In a statement, league commissioner Rob Manfred said, "My office has completed its investigation into the allegations that Sam Dyson violated Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. Having reviewed all of the available evidence, I have concluded that Mr. Dyson violated our Policy and that discipline is appropriate." Dyson has accepted his suspension. This news comes more than five months after a report from The Athletic detailed Alexis Blackburn's abuse allegations against Dyson. The 32-year-old has spent time with the Blue Jays, Marlins, Rangers, Giants, and Twins since being a fourth-round pick in 2010. His age, lack of free agent interest, and abuse allegations suggest that Dyson's MLB career is over, though he will be free to sign with any team when his suspension concludes.
