Jon Jay released by Angels

The Angels have released outfielder Jon Jay. He was in camp on a minors deal but tallied just two hits over 29 at-bats this spring. (Bernie Pleskoff on Twitter)

While Jay has struggled this spring, he has been a relatively solid player throughout his career. Over 11 years with six teams, he slashed .283/.348/.373. He's never been an All-Star, though he did win the 2011 World Series with St. Louis.
