Sam Haggerty drives in go-ahead run in Mariners win Thursday

by Ari Koslow | Mariners Correspondent | Fri, Apr 23rd 1:56am EDT

Sam Haggerty went 1-for-1 with one RBI and two runs in the Mariners 7-3 extra-inning win Thursday over Boston.

Fantasy Impact:

Haggerty entered the game as a pinch-runner in the eighth inning for Luis Torrens who drew a walk. Haggerty was able to steal second base, before scoring on a throwing error by Boston pitcher Adam Ottavino. After Jose Marmolejos walked to put two runners on base, J.P. Crawford layed down a bunt to move both runners over. Ottavino tried to get the force out at third, but Haggerty's speed led to him throwing the ball away on a play where he was able to score. Haggerty later gave the Mariners the lead in the 10th inning on an RBI double that scored Evan White before he was able to score on a three-run home run hit by Mitch Haniger.
