Abraham Toro logs pair of season-firsts on Thursday

by Andersen Pickard | Athletics Correspondent | Fri, Jun 18th 10:36am EDT

After spending nearly two months in Triple-A, Astros third baseman was called up on Thursday after Alex Bregman went down with an injury. Toro made his presence felt, going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two-run single. He finished the day with two runs and four RBI while also stealing a base.

Fantasy Impact:

The homer and stolen base were Toro's first of the season. He was just 1-for-12 during his big-league stint in April, so his return on Thursday should provide Houston confidence that they can survive Bregman's injury, no matter how much time he misses. Toro had been slashing .352/.485/.593 with 11 RBI, 11 walks, and eight strikeouts in the minors this year.
