John King blows save but earns win

by Andersen Pickard | Cardinals Correspondent | Wed, Jul 7th 7:17am EDT

Pitching in what technically had the opportunity to be a save situation, Rangers reliever John King allowed four runs on four hits and a walk over two innings. He also struck out three batters. This poor effort gave the Tigers the lead, but the Rangers' offense was able to come back and regain the lead when King was still on the mound. As such, he was credited with the win as Texas ultimately defeated Detroit by a score of 10-5.

Fantasy Impact:

King is now 7-5 with a 3.52 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and .233 OBA over 46 innings of relief work. He's walked 12 batters and struck out 40 this year. The hurler owned a 1.13 ERA in early May, but that number has more than tripled since then. He has now allowed 14 runs over his last 16.1 innings of work.
