Fantasy Impact:
Given the uncertainty surrounding J.T. Realmuto, the Phillies added organizational depth to the catcher position by inking Kolozsvary. The 30-year-old has not played in the big leagues since 2023 and has just 20 at bats at the Major League level between Cincinnati and Baltimore. The only catchers with any big league experience on the Phillies' roster are Garrett Stubbs and Rafael Marchan, so, if Realmuto leaves, Kolozsvary will definitely compete for a spot on the Opening Day roster. However, he has a career batting average of .213 over more than 1,400 plate appearances in the minors.
