Oneil Cruz being called up Monday

Fantasy Impact:
The 23-year-old prospect slashed .233/.237/.424 through 54 games in the minors this season. Fantasy managers anticipated an earlier arrival to the big leagues than this, given the poor play of Pittsburgh and Cruz's success in two games last season in MLB. He is expected to take over as the everyday shortstop, though he did see some time in left field while in Triple-A. Fantasy managers who held on patiently hope he adjusts and demonstrates his dynamic skills quickly. He is probably not available in dynasty leagues, but those in redraft looking for possible double-digit homers and steals the rest of the way can take a flyer in their pickups Sunday evening.
