Max Meyer strikes out five in MLB debut Saturday

Max Meyer worked 5 1/3 innings in Saturday's 10-0 loss to the Phillies, allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five.
Fantasy Impact:
Meyer certainly displayed some promise in his much anticipated MLB debut Saturday. The 23-year-old righty leaned heavily on his slider, producing a strong 14.3-percent swinging-strike rate with the pitch. He also sat regularly in the mid-90s with his heater. Meyer got through the first three innings without surrendering a run, but the Phillies got to him a bit the more they saw his stuff. Ultimately, this was an encouraging outing versus a stout lineup. The third-overall pick of the 2020 draft should see more big-league action in the second half.
