Ian Anderson blanks Arizona on Saturday

by Devon Bruce | Braves Correspondent | Sat, Jul 30th 10:23pm EDT

Ian Anderson pitched six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and a walk while striking out nine during Atlanta's win over Arizona on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Anderson was exceptional, cruising through the first four innings, then only allowing a double to Jake McCarthy and walking Buddy Kennedy in the fifth inning before ending his night. He was able to induce an impressive 16 swinging strikes, nine strikeouts and 35 percent CSW and saw a slight uptick in velocity across his three-pitch arsenal. It was a huge bounce-back effort for Anderson after he was crushed for seven earned runs in his last start. He has been highly inconsistent this season, seemingly alternating great starts with very poor outings. Fantasy managers should continue to be wary of the righty and stream him only in plus matchups. On the season Anderson is now 9-6 with a 4.99 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with 90 strikeouts over 20 starts. He'll next take the mound in a road matchup against the Mets on Friday.
