Jesus Luzardo

Jesus Luzardo logs five frames Saturday afternoon

by Nate Miller | Marlins Correspondent | Sat, Aug 13th 6:01pm EDT

Jesus Luzardo tossed five innings in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader with the Braves, giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six.

Fantasy Impact:

Luzardo got through the first three innings of Saturday's outing unscathed, but the Braves potent offense broke through with a three spot in the fourth. The lefty surrendered an additional run in the fifth and ultimately went on to take the loss. More important than this one defeat is the fact that Luzardo still appears healthy and strong following his recent months-long stay on the IL. Over three starts since returning, he has posted a 3.17 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and 17-to-3 K/BB ratio across 17 innings. Luzardo should be back on the mound Friday in Los Angeles.
