Weston Wilson has been designated for assignment by the Philadelphia Phillies to make room for the official re-signing of J.T. Realmuto. (Todd Zolecki on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Wilson played 100 games over parts of three seasons with the Phillies and batted .242 with nine home runs and 25 RBI in 242 plate appearances. Wilson, 31, does have some pop as evidenced by a 31-homer season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley in 2023. He can also play multiple positions - between the minors and majors, Wilson has played more than 100 games at first, second, third, shortstop, and left field. He'll have an opportunity to latch on with someone else looking for a utility-type player.
