Jonathan Heasley pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and three walks while striking out five in Kansas City’s 2-1 loss to the Red Sox on Friday.

Heasley was in line for his second straight road win but had it snatched away by the Royals’ bullpen. Heasley’s three walks were part of eight issued by the Royals’ staff while allowing only three hits. Heasley remains at 3-8 with a 5.09 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and 62 strikeouts in 88 1/3 innings across 21 starts this season. Heasley will look for his fourth win of the year in his next start on Thursday against the Twins.
