Zack Greinke returns to Royals on one-year deal

Greinke returns to the team that drafted him sixth overall way back in 2002. The righty also played the 2022 campaign on a one-year deal with Kansas City, posting a 3.68 ERA across 26 starts. The 39-year-old starter has played 19 seasons in the big leagues, working to a 3.42 ERA and collecting 223 wins in that time. The Florida native won the 2009 AL Cy Young Award with the Royals when he cruised to a 2.16 ERA across a career-high 229 1/3 innings pitched.
