Zach Eflin returns to Orioles on one-year deal

Zach Eflin has signed a one-year, $10 million deal to return to the Baltimore Orioles, according to Bob Nightengale. The contract reportedly includes a mutual option for 2027. (Bob Nightengale on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Eflin will be entering his 11th big league season in 2026, but is coming off of a disappointing and injury-plagued 2025 campaign with the Orioles. The righthander was limited to just 14 starts a year ago and pitched to a 5.93 ERA in 71.1 innings with a career-low 16.2% strikeout rate. However, Eflin is just two years removed from a 16-win season with the Rays where he struck out 186 batters in 177.2 innings and posted a 3.50 ERA, leading to a sixth-place finish in the AL Cy Young voting. Right now, Eflin is penciled in as a back-of-the-rotation starter and, if he can return close to his 2023 form, could be a sneaky pickup late in fantasy drafts.
