Cincinnati Reds reliever Tejay Antone has suffered a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. (MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The setback is a flexor strain in his right forearm that will cost Antone the first half of the 2023 season after he missed all of the 2022 campaign following Tommy John surgery. The procedure was the second Tommy John of Antone's career after he also underwent the knife in 2017 while in the minors. The right-hander had established himself as a key late-inning arm for the Reds' bullpen between 2020 and 2021, throwing 69 frames of 2.48 ERA ball with a 32.3% K% and three saves in 36 appearances. The setback is a significant blow to a Reds bullpen that tied for second-last with a 4.72 ERA in 2022.
