Corbin Burnes is not happy with the Milwaukee Brewers organization after an arbitration hearing in which he lost. (Adam McCalvy on Twitter)
It was odd to see the Brewers take their ace and 2021 NL Cy Young winner to arbitration despite only about $700K difference in the figures exchanged between Burnes and the team. Burnes told the media on Thursday 'the relationship is definitely hurt' and 'you learn your true value in the organization'. Certainly, this is nightmarish news for Brewers fans after Burnes led all MLB pitchers with a 12.0 fWAR, tied for fourth in ERA (2.71), and ranked second in K-BB% (27%) over the last two seasons.
