Fantasy Impact: Rodriguez was originally scheduled to start Friday's Cactus League opener, but it'll instead be Tommy Henry. It doesn't appear to be a concern that he was scratched.

Fantasy Impact: Grichuk will not initially play in Cactus League games. The team is hopeful he will be ready for Opening Day but even if he is not, he is not expected to miss much time. He signed a one-year deal with Arizona this past Saturday.

Fantasy Impact: The deal includes an opt-out after the second year and a club option for a fourth year. The 30-year-old had a solid season in 2023 with the Dbacks, hitting .261/.309/.463. He'll be a fixture in the lineup once again in 2024.

Fantasy Impact: While Zavala is a solid defensive backup catcher, Vargas is the notable get from the D-backs. While he struggled to a 7.02 ERA in 38 Triple-A appearances with Reno last season and allowed three earned runs in 4 2/3 innings with Arizona, his fastball averaged 99.5 mph and he is just 24 years of age. He is a nice development piece for the Mariners coaching staff.
