Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. updated his injury Tuesday, calling it a "very low-grade strain of his right forearm". (Chandler Rome on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Usually, a forearm strain is a notable concern for a pitcher, especially one with McCullers' lengthy injury history. However, McCullers noted that doctors were hesitant to even call it a strain while Dr. Neal ElAttrache confirmed the diagnosis after reviewing an MRI. McCullers also said he will play catch again tomorrow as he ramps up for a late start to the regular season. The right-hander tossed a fantastic 2.27 ERA in 2022, although in just eight starts due to a shoulder issue. When healthy, McCullers is an excellent fantasy asset but that has not been the case throughout his MLB career.
