Ruiz was informed by Oakland manager Mark Kotsay that he will be on the club's Opening Day roster. It is not set that Ruiz will be the everyday center fielder for the A's, but he is certainly in the mix. The young speedster did not do much with his 36 big-league plate appearances in 2022. However, he hit .332 with 16 homers and a ridiculous 85 steals across 114 games between Double-A and Triple-A.
