Shane Bieber threw six shutout innings in a 3-0 loss to the Mariners on Opening Day on Wednesday. Bieber took a no-decision while striking out three and scattering six hits.

Bieber and Seattle starter Luis Castillo locked horns on an Opening Day battle of aces. They both departed after six innings of work with the game tied at 0-0 but Cleveland reliever James Karinchak allowed three runs in the eighth inning to take the loss. Bieber will be back on the mound on Tuesday to take on Oakland.
