David Peterson roughed up by the Giants on Saturday

by Scott Youngson | Mets Correspondent | Sat, Apr 22nd 11:20pm EDT

David Peterson allowed seven earned runs over five innings in the Mets' loss to the Giants on Saturday. Peterson struck out eight but allowed seven hits, including two HRs.

Fantasy Impact:

Peterson has struggled to keep the ball in the park this season, allowing seven dingers in 25 and 2/3 innings. His ERA ballooned to 7.36, and he's sporting an unsightly 1.64 WHIP. The only thing that has gone well for Peterson this season is his strikeout rate, which sits at 10.5 per nine. Peterson will need to pitch better if he wants to maintain a rotation spot once some of the injured Mets' starters return. It won't get any easier for him next time out, as he's scheduled to face the Braves.
