Nestor Cortes Jr. strikes out six in win over Mariners
by Matthew Terelle | Yankees Correspondent | Wed, May 31st 6:30am EDT
Cortes Jr. pitched five innings, allowing five hits and three walks while giving up two earned runs.
Fantasy Impact:
Despite the shaky start, he settled in and struck out six batters to earn his fourth win of the season. Cortes Jr.'s season-long numbers have been inconsistent, as he currently holds a 5.16 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP through 11 starts. However, his 8.95 K/9 and 3.11 strikeout-to-walk ratio show promise for the young left-hander.
