The St. Louis Cardinals have designated reliever Ryan Tepera for assignment to clear roster space for the return of Tyler O'Neill (back). (St. Louis Cardinals on Twitter)

Tepera recently opted out of his minor-league deal with the Texas Rangers before inking a one-year pact with the Cardinals. It appears his Cardinals tenure will come to a halt after just two appearances while the veteran surrendered two earned runs, one homer, and one walk against one strikeout in that time.
