J.P. Arencibia blasts second home run in two days as Rays lose heartbreaker

by Mike Werner | Thu, Sep 3rd 4:43am EDT

J.P. Arencibia went 2-for-4 with a home run, double, and two runs scored as the Rays went on to lose in extras to the Orioles 7-6.

Fantasy Impact:

Well, Arencibia is certainly making an impression on the Rays since his call-up on August 26th. Since arriving from Triple-A Durham, he's gone 7-for-17(.412) with three extra-base hits(2 HR) and eight RBI. Most of that production has come over the last two days, and he's certainly stayed true-to-form, striking out seven times while not taking a walk in his 17 at-bats so far. With that said, Arencibia has demonstrated his immense power in spurts, and could help AL-Only owners in a pinch for the stretch run. He's better left on waivers in most leagues, and as a possible punt play in DFS when the right matchup arises.
