Aroldis Chapman has agreed to a one-year, $10.75 million contract with the Boston Red Sox according to Jeff Passan. (Jeff Passan on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Chapman’s deal with the Red Sox is pending a physical. The left-handed reliever will provide a veteran presence and immediate boost to a Boston bullpen that struggled to hold leads on a consistent basis this past season. Chapman will likely slot into a competition for the closer role in spring training for manager Alex Cora after posting 98 strikeouts, 14 saves, and 22 holds in 68 relief appearances last season.
