Thatcher Hurd to Undergo Tommy John surgery
by Bruno Mulé | Yankees Correspondent | Fri, Feb 21st 4:15pm EST
Yankees pitching prospect Thatcher Hurd will undergo Tommy John surgery next week to repair his right UCL and remove a bone chip, Geoff Pontes of Baseball America reports. The 2024 third-round pick has yet to make his professional debut, and this procedure will sideline him for the entire 2025 season.
Fantasy Impact:
Hurd’s development is now on hold until at least 2026, as he’ll require a lengthy rehab process following surgery. While the Yankees were high on his potential, this setback means dynasty managers will have to be patient, as he won’t be contributing at any level for the foreseeable future.
