Ben Rortvedt (shoulder) will start at catcher and hit fifth in Thursday’s Grapefruit League matchup against the Phillies, per team reports.
Fantasy Impact:
Rortvedt’s been nursing a sore right shoulder—eased by an injection—sticking to DH in his past two spring outings, but he’s back behind the plate for the first time since Feb. 23. If his throwing holds up through camp, he’s set to split catching duties with Danny Jansen to start 2025. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues can eye him as a backup option with some at-bat upside.
