The Reds have optioned right-hander Connor Phillips to Triple-A Louisville, the team announced Monday. (Cincinnati Reds)

Fantasy Impact:

Phillips made his major-league debut in 2023, making five starts, but has since slipped down the Reds' pitching depth chart. While he ended the 2024 season on a strong note—posting a 2.49 ERA with 24 strikeouts over his final 21.2 innings—his overall performance at Triple-A was rough, with an 8.01 ERA, 2.03 WHIP, and troubling control issues. That trend continued in Cactus League play, where he walked six of the 19 batters he faced. Phillips will need to show improved command at Louisville before earning another shot in the Reds’ rotation.
