Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups: FAAB Suggestions

Travis Bazzana (2B – CLE)

Travis Bazzana was picked up in 56 Main Event leagues with a max bid of $227 and a minimum bid of $29. Bazzana is a top prospect who made his debut last week but has struggled since his call-up.

Bazzana profiles mostly as an accumulator with speed and a fantastic eye at the plate. He is best suited for on-base percentage (OBP) leagues but will have viability in most formats.

Rico Garcia (RP – BAL)

Rico Garcia was picked up in 55 Main Event leagues with a max bid of $176 and a minimum bid of $12. With Ryan Helsley hitting the injured list (IL) with elbow issues, Garcia appears to be the next man in in the ninth innings for the Orioles.

Garcia has been fantastic so far, throwing 14.2 innings with a 0.61 ERA, a 0.34 WHIP and 16 strikeouts. If Helsley is out for an extended period, Garcia could be a boon for fantasy managers.

Kyle Finnegan (RP – DET)

Kyle Finnegan was picked up in 55 Main Event leagues with a max bid of $111 and a minimum bid of $8. Finnegan registered a save with Kenley Jansen dealing with a groin injury.

Jansen did pitch on Monday, so it appears he will be OK, but if Jansen were to hit the IL, Finnegan is the logical next man up.

Brice Matthews (2B, OF – HOU)

Brice Matthews was picked up in 54 Main Event leagues with a max bid of $59 and a minimum bid of $10. Matthews is a former prospect of note who has been hot and playing regularly for the Astros with Joey Loperfido and Jake Meyers hurt.

Matthews is multi-positional eligible but profiles as an accumulator, which means once the Astros get healthy, it will be hard for him to have value.

JJ Bleday (OF – CIN)

JJ Bleday was picked up in 54 Main Event leagues with a max bid of $53 and a minimum bid of $3. Bleday has been playing regularly against righties since being called up and hitting well, but the underlying contact skills that have been a problem in the past remain.

Bleday is worth rostering in leagues where you can optimize his platooning while he is hot, but when he slows down, he will likely get sent back to the minors.

Christian Scott (SP – NYM)

Christian Scott was picked up in 41 Main Event leagues with a max bid of $226 and a minimum bid of $63. Scott is a former top pitching prospect who has returned after missing all of 2025 with Tommy John surgery.

Scott’s stuff has looked great, but the command and control have been a bit elusive, as they normally are for Tommy John surgery returnees in their first year back. There is a lot of upside in the arm, but he will be frustrating at times.

Tyler Phillips (RP – MIA)

Tyler Phillips was picked up in 43 Main Event leagues with a max bid of $68 and a minimum bid of $2. With Pete Fairbanks hitting the IL, the Marlins require an interim closer, and Phillips was the first to get a save.

However, the Marlins have not yet committed to anyone, and this feels like a committee with experienced former closers Anthony Bender and Calvin Faucher.
