Tommy Kahnle works out of jam for fourth save
by Bruno Mulé | Sat, Apr 19th 1:37pm EDT
Tommy Kahnle secured his fourth save Friday against the Royals, recording the final two outs of the ninth inning. He entered with the bases loaded and one out, issued a walk (forcing in an inherited run), struck out one, and induced a game-ending lineout. Kahnle allowed no hits and was charged with zero earned runs.
Fantasy Impact:
Kahnle has now converted all four of his save opportunities this season. After Friday's outing, he owns a 1.17 ERA, 0.52 WHIP, and a 6:1 K:BB ratio across 7.2 innings pitched. He appears firmly entrenched as the Tigers' closer.
