Daulton Varsho (back) likely to return Tuesday

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider said after Sunday’s game that he’s hopeful Daulton Varsho, who was scratched with back tightness, will be ready to return for Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Angels. (Arden Zwelling on Twitter)

Schneider noted that Varsho likely could have played through the back tightness if necessary, but the team opted for caution given his recent return from the IL on April 29. With Monday’s scheduled off day, Varsho will get some extra time to recover before the Blue Jays open a three-game series in Anaheim.
