Kevin Ginkel allows homer but earns first save

by Bruno Mulé | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Fri, May 9th 1:04pm EDT

Kevin Ginkel recorded his first save of the season Thursday in the Diamondbacks' 5-3 win over the Dodgers. Pitching the ninth inning, he allowed a two-out solo home run to Shohei Ohtani but then retired Mookie Betts to end the game. Ginkel was charged with one run on one hit and no walks, striking out one.

Fantasy Impact:

This was Ginkel's first save of the year, and he also has three holds. With A.J. Puk (elbow) and Justin Martinez (elbow) sidelined, Ginkel is competing with Shelby Miller and Ryan Thompson for save chances.
