Clay Holmes allowed four earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings in Wednesday's defeat to the Pirates.

After today’s loss, Holmes now holds a 3.14 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with a 5-2 record across nine starts this season. Holmes has pitched six innings in each of his last three starts. He is scheduled to start in Boston next Tuesday.
