TJ Friedl (wrist) hoping to return Friday

TJ Friedl is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Chicago White Sox, but Cincinnati Reds manager Terry Francona said he is available to pinch run or play defense. (Charlie Goldsmith on Twitter)

Friedl is dealing with a bone bruise in his right wrist sustained on Tuesday and will miss his second consecutive game on Thursday. Francona said Friedl will take some swings to assess his condition, and the team is hopeful he can return to the lineup Friday. Will Benson will start in center field and bat sixth on Thursday.
