Maile made a strong impression in his limited time, logging two singles, a home run and two walks across 10 plate appearances. However, with Salvador Perez able to play behind the plate again, the Royals opted not to carry three catchers. To fill the newly opened roster spot, Taylor Clarke was reinstated from the paternity list.
