Fantasy Impact:
Kim will receive just over $1 million in international bonus pool money, and the Rangers have 'full intent' to develop him as both a pitcher and position player, according to Hamilton Wise, the team's senior director of international scouting and development. Kim, who turned 18 earlier this month, won’t graduate from Gwangju Jeil High School in South Korea until January. In the meantime, he’ll return home with a training and development plan to follow before officially joining the Rangers full-time. On the mound, he’s touched 95 mph, while offensively, he’s spent most of his time at shortstop and is hitting .333 with a 1.015 OPS this season.
