Clay Holmes issues career-high six walks in loss

Clay Holmes (7-4) took the loss Thursday against Atlanta, allowing three runs on four hits and a career-high six walks over 4.2 innings. The right-hander struck out five. After 2.1 hitless innings to start, Holmes ran into trouble, issuing three of his walks and throwing 30 pitches in the fifth inning before being removed.
Fantasy Impact:
The outing was the first time since his second start of the year that Holmes failed to complete at least five innings. Through 83 innings this season, the 32-year-old holds a 3.04 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and a 73:31 K:BB ratio. His next start is scheduled to be a rematch at home versus Atlanta next week.
