Brady Singer allowed four earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two over 3.2 innings in Thursday's loss to the Pirates.

After today’s defeat, Singer's season now includes a 4.45 ERA and 1.34 WHIP, along with a record of 9 wins and 9 losses across 23 starts. This was a dud against a weak offense, after going six scoreless with 10 strikeouts last time out. Singer has pitched better than originally thought in Cincinnati, but is too volatile to trust as a must-start pitcher. He gets the Phillies next time out.
