MacKenzie Gore allowed two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings in Thursday's loss to the Marlins.

After today’s performance, Gore now holds a 4.14 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with a 5-14 record across 28 starts this season. He started the year hot but has worn down as the season progressed. He's failed to pitch into the sixth inning in any of his last three starts, and he has only three quality starts in 11 tries since the beginning of July. The strikeouts are real, but he gives up hard contact. He gets the Braves next time out.
