Michael King receives $22.05 million qualifying offer from Padres

The San Diego Padres extended a one-year, $22.05 million qualifying offer to starting pitcher Michael King on Thursday. The 30-year-old right-hander is expected to decline the offer in pursuit of a multi-year deal on the free-agent market. (Jesse Rogers)

Fantasy Impact:

King is likely to have plenty of suitors this offseason after posting a 3.44 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 73.1 innings pitched in 2025. If King signs with another organization, the Padres will receive a compensatory draft pick.
