The San Diego Padres extended a one-year, $22.05 million qualifying offer to starting pitcher Dylan Cease on Thursday. This move ensures the Padres will receive a bonus draft pick as compensation should the 29-year-old right-hander sign with another team in free agency. (Jeff Passan)
Fantasy Impact:
Cease has been extremely durable, making at least 32 starts in each of the last five seasons. However, his performance was less consistent in 2025, as he finished the regular season with a 4.55 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 168 innings.
