Dustin May fully recovered from elbow injury

by Bruno Mulé | Cardinals Correspondent | Sat, Nov 15th 2:55pm EST

Dustin May said Thursday that he is “fully back to normal” after his 2025 season was cut short by right elbow neuritis, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports. May last pitched on Sept. 3 but resumed throwing later that month and noted that he would have been available for the ALDS had the Red Sox advanced. The right-hander posted a 4.96 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 21.1 percent strikeout rate over 132.1 innings in 2025 — his heaviest workload to date — though his velocity dipped during the season. He now enters free agency at age 28 after previously flashing frontline ability. (Christopher Smith)

Fantasy Impact:

May’s health update and workload profile set the stage for a potentially volatile free-agent market, as noted in the report. His past performance could make him an interesting flier for teams shopping below the top of the market.
