Marcelo Mayer (wrist) underwent follow-up exam last week

Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow said during the Winter Meetings that Marcelo Mayer underwent a follow-up exam last week. (Gabrielle Starr on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Per Breslow, everything went "really well" in the follow-up for Mayer. He continues to work his way back from undergoing wrist surgery back in August. He is expected to open next season as the starting third baseman for the Red Sox if they don't bring back Alex Bregman.
