Hunter Harvey signs deal with Cubs

Hunter Harvey has signed a deal with the Chicago Cubs, pending a physical, according to multiple sources including The Athletic's Will Sammon. (Will Sammon on X)
Fantasy Impact:
This has the potential to be a solid under-the-radar signing for the Cubs, especially if Harvey can remain healthy. Harvey had an injury-plagued 2025 campaign for the Royals, pitching only 10.2 innings in Kansas City. However, the hard-throwing righthander did not allow a run and gave up just six hits and a walk while striking out 11 in those 10.2 innings. He has pitched for three teams in seven seasons (Orioles, Nationals, Royals) and arguably had his best season in 2023 with the Nationals when he pitched to a 2.82 ERA, saved 10 games and added 19 holds. Harvey can be used in middle relief and has experience late in games.
