Yunior Marte signs minor league deal with Reds

by David Leisering | Reds Correspondent | Wed, Dec 31st 8:17am EST

Yunior Marte has signed a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds, which includes an invitation to the Reds' MLB Spring Training camp. Marte would earn $1.05 million if he makes the Opening Day roster. (Francys Romero on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Marte has not pitched in the big leagues since appearing in 23 games with the Phillies in 2024. Last season, the righthander played for the Chunichi Dragons in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball league and posted a 1.95 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 32.1 innings. However, Marte has a below-average 20.1% strikeout rate and a 5.64 ERA in 102 career big league appearances. The Reds don't have a ton of minor league depth, so Marte will presumably help fill that void and could see some low-leverage innings in Cincinnati.
