Kaleb Ort claimed off waivers by Yankees

Kaleb Ort has been claimed off of waivers by the New York Yankees after he was designated for assignment just three days earlier by the Astros. (Ari Alexander on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Ort, who will turn 34 in June, pitched two seasons in Houston and went 3-3 with a 4.08 ERA in 71 appearances with the Astros. In 70.2 innings, he allowed only 51 hits and struck out 75 batters. All told, Ort has a 5.00 ERA in parts of five seasons with Boston and Houston. The righthander does have past experience in the Yankees' organization having pitched in the farm system from 2017-19. New York has multiple open roster spots, so it's very possible that Ort gets invited to camp to compete for a bullpen spot.
