Fernando Cruz and the New York Yankees have avoided arbitration and the righthander is scheduled to make $1.45 million in 2026. (The Yankee Report on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Cruz has pitched parts of four seasons at the major league level between the Reds and Yankees. The righthander, who will turn 36 in March, has swing-and-miss stuff as evidenced by his career 36.1% strikeout rate. However, his career ERA of 4.28 across 195.1 innings is much higher than you'd like to see out of a late-inning reliever. Cruz will again serve as a setup man for closer David Bednar in 2026.
