Carlos Perez signs minor league deal with Astros

Carlos Perez has signed a minor league deal with the Houston Astros. The contract includes a non-roster invite to Spring Training. (MLB Trade Rumors on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Perez, 35, has appeared in 278 career games at the major league level with the Angels, Braves, Rangers, and Athletics, but has not been in the big leagues since 2023. Most of his time came with the Angels between 2015-17. He played for the Braves and Rangers in 2018 and then did not make it back to the show until 2023 with the Athletics. He is a career .218 hitter with 17 home runs in parts of five major league seasons. With the loss of Victor Caratini to the Twins in free agency, Perez has a possible opening to the backup catcher role in Houston.
